A keen advocate of team shooting, Jane has toured widely, including to Barbados, Canada (where she captained a successful GB team in 2010), New Zealand, South Africa, the USA and Zimbabwe. This will be Jane’s second visit to the West Indies: she was a member of Colin Cheshire’s team in 1991, shooting on Paragon Ranges, Barbados and then visiting St Lucia (the surprise upgrade of the entire team to a brand new luxury hotel there is well remembered by all who went on the tour!). Since then, Jane has shot and coached in all the ‘Big 5’ team matches (National, MacKinnon, Kolapore, Australia and Palma), including six consecutive Palma matches. She hopes that this tour will give her the opportunity to take part in her tenth Australia match.
Although team shooting is Jane’s favourite, she is also an accomplished individual shot , having won a number of important individual competitions at Bisley and elsewhere, including the Grand Aggregate and St George’s Vase.
Aside from the shooting on tour, Jane is looking forward to visiting Trinidad for the first time - and revisiting the botanic and orchid gardens in Barbados. Her own garden is sadly neglected due to shooting commitments and bears some resemblance to a jungle - at least it can be considered to be trendily wildlife friendly!
