Tom Rylands SC

This is Tom’s first trip to the West Indies and he has been promised plenty of sunshine, unlike Bisley!

As one of the more senior (age only!) members of the team, Tom’s first Bisley was over 30 years ago and his first GB cap in 1988, he won’t be partaking in early morning fitness sessions at the gym or running! Tom does however have a reasonable track record in Australia matches; shot four, won four, and two record scores along the way, currently sharing that achievement (200.26) with B.S.Litz from USA. With 3 Palma Teams and GB Tours to South Africa, Canada, Australia and Zimbabwe, along with England tours to the USA and South Africa, the latter as captain, Tom has a wealth of experience to draw on. After 28 years in the animal feed trade, a change of direction has taken Tom into coaching and back to education; currently studying for a Masters, he also coaches shooting at Ellesmere College and brought them back to Bisley for the Ashburton this year after a break of some 23 years. He has taken on the role of armourer for this trip and hopes he will be allowed out occasionally to enjoy the legendary West Indian hospitality! Tom’s wife Jane is accompanying him for the latter part of the tour.
