Vice Captain - Charles Brooks

This will be Charles’ sixth GB tour and second to the West Indies.  After a gap of 35 years from his first tour (in 1978 as the sprightly 22 year old babe of the team under Lawrence Hoddle) he hopes it will not be another 35 years before he returns to the country again.

Charles has toured Canada and the Channel Islands as well and brings a wealth of experience gained shooting for and coaching Hampshire, England and GB over the years, winning a number of trophies at Bisley as well as a good collection of HM Queen’s Prize and St George’s badges.

Charles will be joined by his wife Penny for the latter part of the tour, who will be known to many Bisley tourists for her role at the British Commonwealth RC where Charles has held the positions of Secretary and Captain/Chairman and is now Vice President.  Charles is delighted to be on his first tour with Jon Underwood: they both went to the same preparatory school, Aldro School, (although at different times) and benefitted from the shooting tutelage of the late Barry Gardiner.

Away from Bisley, Charles keeps busy practising law in a largish law firm based in London, Hampshire and Surrey.
